It seems like such a contradiction to put a cage around a wildflower, but we had no white trilliums growing here. We purchased this one last year from Catskill Native Nursery in Kerhonkson, NY. As you can see it has a flower and a bud. Needless to say we are delighted, and it would be very disappointing to have it nipped off by a passing animal.The wall behind the trillium is just over 10 years old. It shows what happens to a stone wall in the shade. With the moss growing on the wall, it looks as though it might have been there for many years.
