Such A Pretty Face

There is a point with a snow storm where images change from beauty to freakish excess. It's as if once lithe Mother Nature has put on more than a few pounds overnight. Her beauty is still there, but it is lost in the sheer weight of the snow.

Ed parked the truck down by the road to make getting out possible. It will take us some time for us to dig out. It's the middle of the day and the snow has stopped. Patches of blue sky intermix with the clouds, but the clouds are still moving from the East. The question is what will blow in next?

I'm glad you finally got some "big" snow. We have had more than our share. We've only had a couple of inches but it's drifting a lot with the wind!

What a lot of snow. Where are you exactly?

We are in upstate New York north of where the Unadilla and Susquehanna Rivers meet.

Alaskan moments of freakish winter excess happened with great regularity. We are no longer shocked that it keeps snowing. We might as well be penguins in Antarctica....

A very pretty sight from inside the window. We really got walloped this time too. I'm so over winter but then I remind myself lake effect snow comes to Cleveland into May so I best not put the shovel away just yet.
